SpatialGig ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users ("you" or "your"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use the SpatialGig platform ("Platform").

By using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Platform.

Information You Provide

We collect information that you voluntarily provide when using the Platform, including:

  • Account Information — Name, email address, phone number, password, and profile details (display name, bio, location, profile photo).
  • Provider Information — Professional skills, service descriptions, rates, portfolio items, and work experience.
  • Communication Data — Messages sent through the Platform's messaging system, booking discussions, and support inquiries.
  • Payment Information — Transaction details processed through Paystack. We do not store credit card numbers or bank account details directly.
  • Content — Audio files (stems), reviews, ratings, and other materials you upload or post.

Information Collected Automatically

When you access the Platform, we automatically collect certain technical information:

  • Device Information — Browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and screen resolution.
  • Usage Data — Pages visited, features used, search queries, and interaction patterns.
  • Network Information — IP address, approximate geographic location, and internet service provider.
  • Log Data — Access timestamps, referring URLs, and error logs for debugging and security.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • Platform Operation — To create and manage your account, facilitate bookings and stem purchases, process payments, and deliver the core Platform experience.
  • Communication — To send transactional notifications (booking updates, payment confirmations, OTP codes), respond to support requests, and deliver important Platform announcements.
  • Safety & Security — To detect and prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, protect user safety, and maintain the integrity of the Platform.
  • Improvement — To analyze usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and improve the Platform's features, performance, and user experience.
  • Legal Compliance — To comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or governmental requests.

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in these circumstances:

  • Between Users — When you engage in a booking, your public profile information is visible to the other party. Messages exchanged through the Platform are visible to conversation participants.
  • Payment Processor — We share necessary transaction data with Paystack to process payments. Paystack's handling of your data is governed by their privacy policy.
  • Service Providers — We may share data with trusted third-party services that help us operate the Platform (e.g., email delivery, error tracking, cloud hosting). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Legal Requirements — We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental request, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, safety, or the safety of others.
  • Business Transfers — In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL.
  • Secure password hashing using modern cryptographic algorithms.
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Access controls limiting employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis.
  • Immutable audit logging of all sensitive operations.

While we take reasonable precautions, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Essential Cookies — Required for Platform functionality, including authentication (session cookies) and CSRF protection. These cannot be disabled.
  • Security Cookies — Used by Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection on authentication forms.

We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide appropriate controls.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. After account deletion, we may retain certain data for a limited period to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Audit logs are retained in accordance with our legal and compliance requirements and are not subject to deletion requests, as they serve as an immutable record of Platform activity.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access — You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — You may update or correct inaccurate information through your account settings or by contacting us.
  • Deletion — You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Data Portability — You may request a machine-readable copy of your personal data.
  • Objection — You may object to certain processing of your personal information.

Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

International Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, where data protection laws may differ. By using the Platform, you consent to the transfer of your information to Ghana and other countries where our service providers operate.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on the Platform and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
